اطلاعيه روابط عمومی دفتر تحکيم وحدت پيرامون به خاک و خون کشيده شدن کوی دانشگاه تهران و حوادث اخير انتخابات

انا لله و انا اليه راجعون
انتخابات اخير که برخی به حق آن را کودتا ناميدند، لکه ننگی است که هيچگاه از دامان حاکميت زدوده نخواهد شد.
پس از آنکه طی روزهای گذشته دانشجويان دانشگاه های مختلف همچون ديگر اقشار مردم نسبت به تقلب گسترده و مهندسی شده آراء در انتخابات برای حذف خواسته مردم معترض بودند، نيروهای انتظامی به همراهی نيروهای لباس شخصی، انصار و بسيج در دانشگاه های مختلف کشور به شکلی وحشيانه به دانشجويان حمله ور شدند و ده ها نفر بسياری زخمی شده و حداقل بيش از ۳۰۰ دانشجو در نقاط مختلف کشور ربوده شده اند.
در وحشيانه ترين حمله در شامگاه يکشنبه ۲۴ خرداد، نيروهای انصار و لباس شخصی با سازمان دهی گسترده و هماهنگ به دانشجويان ساکن در کوی دانشگاه تهران حمله کردند. اين افراد مجهز به انواع سلاح های سرد و گرم از جمله قمه و تبر بودند. در اين حمله ناجوانمردانه به دانشجويان، حداقل ۵ نفر از دانشجويان دانشگاه تهران به شهادت رسيدند. محيط زندگی دانشجويان را به آتش کشيدند و به راستی ۱۸ تير ديگری با ابعاد گسترده تر و ناپاکی و سفاکی بيشتر بر جای گذاشتند. باز هم اتاق های خوابگاه دانشگاه تهران منهدم شده و باز هم خون پاک دانشجويان بر در و ديوار آن برجای مانده است.
در دانشگاه شيراز نيز ماموران لباس شخصی، انصار و بسيج به دانشجويان اين دانشگاه حمله کردند که طی اين حمله حداقل ۲ دانشجوی اين دانشگاه به شهادت رسيده اند.
در دانشگاه اصفهان ماموران انتظامی با گاز اشک آور به يکی از خوابگاه های اين دانشگاه حمله کردند و دانشجويان را برای ساعت ها مورد ضرب و شتم قرار دادند. در دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد نيز دانشجويان مورد هجوم نيروهای انصار حزب الله قرار گرفتند.
اين حملات غيرانسانی بر عليه دانشجويان دانشگاه رازی کرمانشاه، علامه طباطبايی، بابل و شاهرود نيز اعمال شده است.
روابط عمومی دفتر تحکيم وحدت بدينوسيله اعلام می دارد چنانچه اين نمايش خطرناک ادامه يابد، می بايست مرگ دموکراسی را تا سالها در اين سرزمين به عزا نشست و حاکميت نيز بداند از چاله به چاه سرنگونی فرو افتاده است، چراکه فعاليت مدنی در اين بربريت عيان معنايی نخواهد داشت. اوج استبداد و زورگويی سردمداران در اين اقدام کودتاگونه بر آفتاب افکنده شد و زين پس جز با زور سرنيزه چرخ حکومتشان نخواهد چرخيد و بدين سان نقاب از چهره جمهوری اسلامی و مدعای دروغين مردم سالاری اش بر افتاده است.
اگر حاکمان بقای خود را جز با کودتا نمی بينند، اين انتخابات گوارای وجودشان، وگرنه، شجاعانه جام زهر بنوشند و سامانی بر امور دهند که مشت دروغ پردازان باز شود و تاريخ اين سرزمين از لوث نيت شومشان پاک گردد.
بايد اکنون پرسيد سرداران رادان و احمدی مقدم و ديگر آقايان مدعی جامعه امن کجا هستند؟ آيا اقتدار شان تنها در بازداشت زنان و دختران برای تخلف های پوشش و حجاب و به منظور برای تبليغات تلويزيونی است؟ از آنجايی که نيروهای انصار و بسيج به صورت هماهنگ و گسترده به دانشجويان حمله ور شده اند، فرماندهان سپاه و بسيج بايد جوابگوی اين جنايات باشند.
اين جنايت عظيم در حق دانشجويان بی پناه، لکه ننگی ابدی و فراموش ناشدنی برای دولتمردان است. چنانکه راهپيمايی کاملا آرام و مسالمت آميز شامگاه روز دوشنبه که از ميدان انقلاب تهران تا ميدان آزادی صورت گرفت و در آن به راستی بيش از يک ميليون نفر از معترضين به انتخابات اخير شرکت کرده بودند، با افسارگسيختگی معدودی از اعضاء تندرو بسيج به خاک و خون کشيده شد. بعضاً شنيده شده که افراد مزبور راهپيمايان را به رگبار بسته اند و تاکنون آمار بيش ۱۰ کشته از اين حادثه منتشر شده است.
در پايان دفتر تحکيم وحدت ادامه بازداشت گسترده فعالين مدنی و سياسی، همچون کيوان صميمی، زيد آبادی، تقی رحمانی، هدی صابر، عبدالرضا تاجيک، شيوا نظرآهاری، هادی کحال زاده، سميه توحيدلو، خانجانی و بسياری ديگر از روزنامه نگاران و دانشجويان و کشته شدن شهروندان و دانشجويان پاک و بيگناه را به شدت محکوم کرده و اعلام می کند خواهان مشخص شدن عاملين اين جنايت وحشيانه و حاميان آنها است و تا روشن شدن تمامی ابعاد اين جنايت سکوت نخواهد کرد.
دفتر تحکيم وحدت ضمن حمايت از جنبش سبز، مدنی و آرام ملت ايران به آن پيوسته و از عموم مردم و دانشجويان می خواهيم که در راهپيمايی عصر روز سه شنبه ۲۶ خرداد در ميدان وليعصر تهران حضور يافته و خواستار خونخواهی از دانشجويان شهيد دانشگاه تهران گردند. از مير حسين موسوی و مهدی کروبی نيز می خواهيم تا احقاق حقوق ملت و ابطال انتخابات از پای ننشينند.

سه داستان

امروز صبح حدود سات ۵ با یکی از دوستام رفتم استخر. در راه برگشت در حال گپ زدن بودیم که من گفتم وقتی تهران بودم ۱ روز ۱ دختری را دیدم که صورتش اینجوری بود و فعلا و بهمان. این دوستم که کلی اهل مطالعه و علاقمند به مساله فرهنقی هست گفت مگه تو میتونستی صورت دختر را ببینی در تهران! گفتم چی؟ گفت مگه از این روبند‌ها ندران؟ ۱ نگاه بهش انداختم و گفتم: michael من این همه برای تو توضیح داده‌ام درباره ایران تو هنوز تو همون خونه اول هستی؟ بی‌چاره سرخ شد. عذرخواهی کردو تصحیح.

بعدش به این فکر می‌کردم که او چقدر میتونه مقصر باشه.

دیشب تو gooya news کلیپی پیدا کردم که مصاحبه بود با کامران و هومن که در مصاحبه با ۱ شبکه خارجی خودشونو کانادایی معرفی کرده بودند.

امروز عصر تو‌ترین نشست بودم و یکی از این مجلات زرد را که به طور رایگن تو train station پخش میکردند و میخوندم. به این رسیدم:

Nine face stoning death in Iran

At least eight women and one man are reported to have been sentenced to death by stoning in Iran.

The group, convicted of adultery and sex offences, could be executed at any time, lawyers defending them say.

The lawyers have called on the head of Iran's judiciary to prevent the sentences from being carried out.

The last officially reported stoning in Iran last year drew strong criticism from human rights groups and the European Union.

The eight women sentenced, whose ages range from 27 to 43, had convictions including prostitution, incest and adultery, Reuters news agency reported.

The man, a 50-year-old music teacher, was convicted of illegal sex with a student, reports said.

Moratorium imposed

Under Iran's Islamic law, stoning to death is the punishment for the crime of adultery.
In 2002 Iranian judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi imposed a moratorium on stoning, but at least three people are reported to have been executed by stoning since then.
Shadi Sadr from the Volunteer Lawyers' Network, which is representing the women, said: "We are very worried as there are at least eight women and one man with a definitive verdict which can be carried out any moment.

"There are no guarantees that the punishments will be halted or commuted."

She called on the international community to back their efforts, adding: "We are in close touch with human rights organisations and many of them have supported our campaign."
Fellow defence lawyer Mariam Kian-Arsi said: "Our specific and clear demand is to have the stoning sentence stopped by Ayatollah Shahroudi since the defendants are liable to be stoned at any moment."

At the moment we have some active, live movements against Iran's social and political system.
Music has massive impact on people's life. Unfortunately most of Iranian singers in/out of the country didn't touch social themes when they needed to.
War, human & women rights, political and social freedom are amongst the most important aspects of our lives which needs to be discussed.

During the day I am busy with my work and daily commitments.
If I find some time, I prefer to study my Financial Planning course materials and write related assignments.
After that I spend some evenings with my friends. I don't have my own PC or Laptop so again it takes me time to find a library and be focus on my studies.

One year passed from the first day I arrived in Sydney.

I have learned some life lessons mainly in Sydney that I like to share:

* I've learnt, smile generates smile. Having a great greeting can be more powerful than a long explanation/talk.

* I've learnt, being proactive in life is the key to success.
(most of the people are passive, some are active and few are proactive!)

* I've learnt, a person who keeps secrets is more precious than a person who unfastens his own secrets.

* I've learnt, one who tries and loses is more successful than who doesn’t try and thinks he wins.

* I've learnt, Some Australians are too polite to correct my mistakes. It can prevent me getting to know my mistakes.

* I've learnt, a good exercise can give me more confidence in a long job interview.

* I've learnt, we, most of Iranians are not liberated enough in life.

* I've learnt, a big smile is a secret of successful businessmen.

* I've learnt, when people say something is hard to achieve, it’s definitely achievable. When they say it's easy to achieve, it’s a joke.

* I've learnt, a weak greeting is accompanied with a negative mind.

* I've learnt, people say:”you can not“because they can not.
(similar to a dialogue in “pursuit of happiness”)

Oh! I can’t think any more at the moment!

recently I talked to some Iranians in the process of applying for residency from Iran. That's a good idea but do it yourself.

Some agents confine the applicants in their limited cages and even prevent giving some normal and accessible information to the applicants.

Everybody can apply for residency from official immigration website.

All of the information is available in the website and even Australian agents refer to this website to find answers to likely questions. It just makes sense as the website is carrier of the whole required information.

After finding your information, you can apply yourself within the website. you can download the forms and apply either online or paper based.

It just need some time and patience so do it yourself.

Sometimes I have many things to write in the weblog but after opening the page, I can't decide what to write and which subject has the priority.

Last night I was invited to a theatre centre in Sydney by a friend of mine.
It was my first theatre after two years so I was excited and missed all my friends who were my companies while watching theatre in Tehran.
It was a nearly four hour dancing show with hundreds of young dancing college graduates. you can see the information in here.

I am not sure who was the first person who taught me how to say "Student".

Unfortunately most of the language teachers in Iran have problem in pronouncing the words which begin with "s".
Iranians like Spanish don't have the sound "S" in their language. So, we would better practice to pronounce "S" properly.
"Stop" could be pronounced "stap" not "estap" or "student" for "Student" not "estudent".

Another thing that is better to keep in mind is "W" against "v".
If we say "viliam" for "wiliam", it's likely to confuse native speaker.

I'd like to write sth about the words ending in "tin" and "tain" and ... but it's hard to explain them in here. we would say "martin" but amazingly English speakers would pronounce it differently. The similar examples are: "mountain", "Britain", "written" and the like.

GDP and some points in Sydney

GDP is the most frequent term in Macroeconomics. Goss Domestic Product is a measure of the value of goods and services produced in a year in a country. There is another way of explaining GDP. The total amount of income/expenditure in a year in a country.

Based on the data in CIA FACTBOOK, GDP per capita in Australia in the year 2006 was equal to $33,300. GDP per capita is The GDP of a country divided by its total population.

Before living in Australia, I was wondering how GDP per capita is so high in some countries. People in the countries with high GDP per capita are not concerned about their basic needs. Food and clothes can be purchase from the first percentile of the salary and the rest of the wealth would be consumed on traveling products, luxuries, art and the like.

Recently I observed that wealthy people in Sydney are very interested in aboriginal arts. The residual money (after purchasing basic needs) would be spent on aboriginal arts and antiques. Amazingly the old wooden stuff (nearly 100 to 200 years old) is very precious in here and again a considerable amount of money would be allocated to that.

In general, setting up a business is easier in a country with high GDP as people have more liquid money and are more willing to buy.

I had a one day job at my university as an examiner!

The supplementary exam for those who couldn't attend the final exams. At university usually cheating is impossible and there are a lot of ways who prevent that.

I was looking around who realized a Chinese guy is reading from a small note hiding in his hand. I walked close to him and he was so nervous. I just tried to show him I caught him in red handed.

Apparently he didn't realize that. I was in trouble as i had no idea what to do. Reporting that could cost him around As$3000 plus more educational troubles. I just decided to give him some more time to stop that. He wrote a lot from his notes. After half an hour I was sure he could pass the subject. I walked towards him and very quietly told him:"Put it in your pocket and do not bring it out anymore". He was shocked.
He had a hard time for the second half of the exam. He was writing his own idea!

Me and Greg went to a house in Point Piper, the most expensive suburb in Sydney.
We were waiting for Greg's friend from Melbourne. He was supposed to deliver some statues for the house.

The owners of the house were a very nice Lady and her husband. They knew Persians well and were very welcoming with us.
Th statue was in and i was so curious to know what it could be. It was a horse from stone which dates back to 2300 years ago. The horse is in a good shape and the couples were looking for that for more than 10 years around the globe!

For sth like 10 minutes I was talking to the lady and i realized she was very conscious about what they bought. She knew the history of that and really loved that. She invited us to stay more there and have coffee with them. It was very kind from her. while walking in the dining room, i found some pictures from the couples and prince Charles! it was obvious that they are so wealthy. She told they have a business in china and every year travel to Dubai and stay in Burj al Arab.

The horse was really impressive. She said:" there is another horse similar to this one in Sydney art gallery but it has some broken parts but this one is in a better condition."!

At the end she asked me about my vision in my life and career path. She suddenly offered me to leave my telephone number for them. She has some contacts that could help me to find a job related to my background.

Tutoring

Tutoring is one of my casual jobs in Sydney. I have advertised in a free website that I teach Tertiary finance and Statistics and primary Math.

Last month nobody called me for that but recently different students from different universities and majors have called me and asked for a tutor. Just now a lady called me for her children which are 8 and 10 years old. I guess from next week I ll teach them as well.

I like tutoring as a casual job because it's the best way of socializing different people and keeps my mind alive as well.

Some of my friends are still jobless in here!!! but I have found Sydney a great place that whenever you like you can have some jobs to do to cover your costs.

I sometimes work for an Australian guy,Greg, who moves stuffs from one place to another. Moving out and in.

He is old, so polite and respectful. He usually doesn't talk while we are in the car driving from one place to another but he is very patient to my questions and curiosity in general.

Few days ago we went to a very big and beautiful house in a quiet area near a nice bay. The owners were moving some stuffs from the house to a storage. They knew of Greg so started asking a lot of questions from him. I couldn't believe that. Greg is like an artist. He was pretty familiar with wooden stuff. By looking to book cases and other similar stuffs, he could distinguish the types of them and was able to talk about the history of them as well.

When Greg saw a book case, realized that it dates back to 150 years ago and he knew the maker too. There was an aged lady who was the aunt of the owner. She agreed with him. She was the real owner of the stuff which were passed on to her. She was 88 years old and her aunt left a house with all the contents to her like the book case.

Greg was to estimate the price of the book case. He said $70,000. I was about to fly.
When later I asked him about the matter, he said:"it's much more.they don't know how precious it is". He called a friend of him who was the Auction buyer. He came in and was absolutely drunk of the stuffs over there. Probably they will sell the book case something like $100,000.
His friend was more conscious than him about the stuff. He had a look to a wooden stuff and said, this style is from Tasmania and dates back to 120 years ago. He was about to call some relatives of the House owner to receive some information about histories of the stuffs.

There were many more stories about that which i prevent writing them up.
Greg has driven the truck most of the times of his life .
He is crazy about paintings and some people ask him to go to auctions and buy furnitures for them! This is one of his jobs.

Poor language

We suffer form lack of implementing some sort of words in our language, Farsi. There are many words in English without any equivalents for them in Farsi. Some would say, Farsi is descriptive compared to English which is more prescriptive. As an example we may consider the word “smash” which means “break something into pieces with force and anger”. We just can explain this verb while translating to Farsi.

But it’s not my point now.

I believe after the Islamic revolution, we have forgotten or been forced to forget some special words.
Say, we most of the times in our language refer to word “like” instead of “Love”. In Iranian national TV channels we hardly hear the word “Love” or similar words which “Love” is their origin. We can hear “Love”, “Lovely”, “Lover”, “Loved”, “Lovable” and the like quite often in everyday conversations in here.

When a word escapes form our language it’s likely to forget the concept!

I believe to have some major problems to resolve in life, is better than facing one single problem. When we got stuck in one issue, the brain after a while gets tired and therefore fucked up! but by moving between tasks, we can take advantage of brain dynamism as well as having a break to consider the problem again and again.

I amazingly believe answers to life problems are hidden and can just be cleared after many times of excavating the problem.

I have observed the people who I meet and have no idea about Iranians, judge us very fast based on their understanding from Medias. Fortunately none of the Muslim terrorists has been Iranian from the beginning of this new paranoia but the name of our country is accompanied with this matter.
Last night I was in a birthday party and you could find people from around the globe. Three of the guests got very happy when they heard I am Iranian. They mentioned they already have very great originally Iranian friends. It has happened to me for many times.

People are the same. Those who already got personal experiences, refer to that. The rest are inevitably dependent to Medias.

Racial discrimination

Before travelling to Australia, I was told about a kind of racial discrimination. It’s more than half a year that I am living in here and just once I faced that. An uneducated guy, who wanted to rent one of his rooms but anyhow, doesn’t matter.

I have worked in many different places in the city or out of the city and with different types of the people. I’ve never felt a kind of discrimination in workplace. Four months ago I was working in a kitchen for a couple of weeks. We, staff, had any kind of conversations over there but nobody asked me from where I am! Neither did I. after a while I came to know that it really doesn’t matter. Last day of my job in that spot, the manager asked me:” by the way, where are you from?”

PPP in Sydney and Tehran

There is a concept in economics which is called purchasing power parity. In the website of World Bank we can find the definition of this concept as follows:

“A method of measuring the relative purchasing power of different countries' currencies over the same types of goods and services. Because goods and services may cost more in one country than in another, PPP allows us to make more accurate comparisons of standards of living across countries. PPP estimates use price comparisons of comparable items but since not all items can be matched exactly across countries and time, the estimates are not always robust.”

I would like to implement this concept, not with currencies but regarding purchasing power. Very interesting issue.

Let’s consider this example.

In Australia, an unskilled Australian can earn $15 per hour. Australian means anybody who can legally work inside the country. In Iran the salary of an unskilled worker is max 5000 tooman per day. If the work includes just 8 hours, it means max 700 tooman per hour. To make it easy let’s say 1000 tooman per hour is the salary of an unskilled worker.

Now, we can compare what each of these two workers can buy from their one hour salary. In Sydney which is an expensive city in the world, you can find a $5 steak in a restaurant. So you can buy three steaks or you can buy kg3 minced meat or you can buy kg15 orange in Chinese market. In Iran, with 1000 tooman you can buy a ham sandwich from haida or one kilogram orange or maybe gr200 meat.

I think it doesn’t need more analysis. It’s clear.

I was having lunch in a Japanese resturant in Oxford Street with my friend that I found gays and lesbians demonstration.
I couldnt find the pictures of that demonstration but I will write about their current demands from the government.
There are some areas in Sydney that are famous for their residents, homosexuals. They have their own community, bars and funs and now demand for more rights.

Long way to go! some of those guys who recently were hanged in Iran, were homosexuals!

A friend was talking about how people are aggressive while asking about an address or something like that in streets. Of course it’s absolutely different in some other countries. I can remember the first week that I arrived in Sydney and was lost! (Mentally and physically), I was looking for an address to visit a flat. I asked a guy about that. He didn’t know the address but told me: “hang on a sec! I will ask from a friend.”
He called his friend but unfortunately he didn’t know it either. He suggested his friend to check the address through internet. They found the address and I was impressed as I was in rush to get there as soon as possible.

I believe there are some sort of social issues which are interrelated. I found this picture in a blog.

Still many people have general ideas about Iran because of a movie which is called: “Not Without My Daughter”. I guess you know the story of the movie. Shit! But how come just this single movie can play a key role in the understanding of the foreigners about our country?
Uneducated people judge Iran and Iranians by what they have seen in TV and not deep and sophisticated Medias. Recently an Australian channel (SBS) broadcasted many movies about Iran, especially desperate Iranians who wanted to escape from the borders to Turkey or Iraq.
Few nights ago I watched the last part of this movie in the title of "unveiled" which I found it well produced and reasonable.

Telstra stadium in Olympic park is the biggest stadium in Australia. Usually football (football is different from soccer in here) matches are held there.
I have worked there for few times on Saturdays. A company is responsible for selling food and drink in different level outlets. Like the outlets of Mc Donald’s and similar food outlets, the management structure and related work are exactly the same. The companies which out sources man power, send their staff to different outlets to work in a short shift.
So, employees (most of them students) from another companies, handle the business in the event. There is just one supervisor in each outlet that manages the process.

Supervisors play a key role in this business. They have to allocate their resources in a way that can increase outlet productivity. The demand is so high in the events and outlets just have to supply as much as they can. Everything is nearly 50% more expensive than in the market but nobody cares about that as it’s the time to enjoy the life.

Last time, my outlet supervisor offered me to work as cashier. Usually people are scared of that because of the high responsibility of dealing with cash. I accepted as I was really interested to evaluate the sell of one outlet in an event as a rule of thumb. In our outlet there were six cashiers and I received nearly AUS$2500 in three hours. It means nearly AUS$15000 our outlet received in that night. There are six outlets in each level which means AUS$90,000 per level. There are six levels in the stadium. Yap! Nearly AUS$500,000 just in food outlets in an event was exchanged between individuals and a company. I didn’t consider the sell of bars which usually have better business than food ones.

Good economic situation of individuals can guarantee the business success of companies and corporations. It means if individuals get paid well, indirectly companies and business owners would have more income and revenue. This fact can easily be observed in Australia.

Yesterday and today I had a strange and shitty job. I was supposed to shower an 86 years old lady. I don’t like to write more about that but I have a lot of things to say.

Last night I had a short shift in Olympic park (Telstra stadium). I was working as a kitchen hand with a lot of people from around the globe. Actually it was not my first time working there. My today’s job

Today again I had a three hour job as a carer. I had to take care of a 60 years old man which leaves in a nursing home. The company already had provided some sort of information about him.

I was there in time. Nurses were helping Tony to get dressed. He was on the wheelchair. After introducing us, he very soon demanded for cigarette. His cigarettes and lighter were on me and I knew that he was allowed to smoke maximum 4 cigarettes in a three hours shift. He smoked two of them in spot.

I was supposed to take him to a pub in nearby the nursing home and again I was supposed to confine him of drinking more than 2 pints of beer. After spending time in a pub he asked me to buy him more cigarettes from a shop.
_Well! I can just buy food and drinks for you.
_yes! But they won’t know that, and you have enough money for that.
_yes I have but it’s just for food and drink.
_ok! Smoke is my food then.

I just laughed and showed him that I liked what he said. I think it was the best approach as he could get dangerous. We walked down the road and got to the nursing home. I had still one hour to spend with him and as he was quiet, I was getting bored.

_do you like to tell me about your life Tony?
He looked at me and started talking about his life. He has got married for three times and was regretted of divorcing his first wife.
_then, why did you divorce?
_ I wanted to live in countryside but she didn’t.
_ was it the only reason? Did you love her?
_it was the only reason and I loved her far more than the next ones. I should have stayed with her.
In that time he met a landlady from countryside who owned 157 horses and land as well. He got crazy of her (or maybe the number of the horses) and married her.

He lives there now in nursing home or cursing home, in his view.

When we leave our home countries to abroad, we usually face different problems. To manage and solve the problems we need to talk to some people, either to get free from its mental barrier or to find some fresh, creative and more independent ideas.

Sometimes this process can not be implemented, simply because there is no one who can understand the whole situation. I mean, when we face a problem, the problem could be acknowledged by people who have a minimum understanding of the concept and more important the context of the problem. These factors are in scarce out of the country.

Mind is the only factor that can boost the opportunities of solving the problems. Power of mind is incredible, unlimited and always beyond the expectations.

Recently I borrowed some books related to this topic. I try to post some of interesting parts of the books.

Now, I know that happiness is a kind of art. I believe that the path to success goes through happiness. I would be happy if you generate more ideas about this.

The story of my tax return

It was for few weeks that I was in need of money. I mean, the problem was not my balance sheet; I had a problem with my cash flow (I hope you know the difference). Last week I was wondering how I can find money! I realized that in June the new financial year would be started and it’s a good time for tax return.
It took me one day to get what’s going on with tax forms. I lodged my tax return through internet.
Today, when I desperately was checking my bank account in internet, I found that my tax return that is about AUS$500 is in my account. I was jumping! After just 6 days (4working days), they sent my tax return to my account.

Now, I can breathe again.

Again we lost an important match. Maybe it’s not the match which is important. The national pride was beaten again!

Some consider the past, some present and some look at the future. I, as an Iranian love to love my country. Do you think I can be happy of a bright future for Iran?

When I heard bout this new program, I got interested to check the list of the movies. As you can see most of the movies show a very dark and sad image from Iran. To be honest, this is a big problem. I feel it now better. Sometimes my friends ask very strange and even insulting questions about Iran. I try to explain them in a very broad and open minded way but it’s not easy.

I went to art gallery and watched “baran”. The Domain Theatre was nearly full and I found few Iranians over there. No idea why!

star city

Few days ago for the first time, I went to star city which is a big famous casino in Sydney.
Recently I moved in a new place and now live with Asians. They invited me to join them going to star city. As I had enough time, decided to join them.

A kind of short cultural chock! It was a very big place with thousands of gamblers. Money can be gained and lost in a second. You can choose between machines and tables. When you enter to the casino, you have to submit your passport to create your own account. It means at the end of each day, every single dollar spent in there would be counted. At the first time, they give you $10 to play as well as 3 free non alcoholic drinks. Anyway, I saw people were inserting the notes easily into the machines and losing them in a spot! Roulette is one of the most popular games (I hope I am not wrong with the name) and you can finish your $50 account in a minute by playing that.

A girl from Thailand is the owner of the flat which I live in. here owner means she has rent the flat and made it furnished and then others would pay her the rent weekly. She was the only expert between us and started playing four card poker. I was shocked as she lost $200 in five minutes. When I asked from my other Thai flatmates about her, they told me that she has already lost nearly $50000 in two years in Sydney. She is a student in the field of hair dressing. That night she was lucky, came back home with $1300. Yap! She won that money in one night.

It was interesting that the people who were gambling at that night were mostly Asian or had Iranian or Arabic look. I am not sure about the nationality of them but for me, the portion of the races was different from the real portion of different races that we see in Sydney.

Australian notes are $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. We can hardly see $100 motes in everyday transactions. In star city, the $100 note was like a leaf of a paper.

Flashback 1

As I knew nobody in Sydney, I booked a bed through this website in one of the hostels in the heart of the city. Hostels or backpackers are the cheapest places that one can stay in. The price of the one which I booked was $25 for 24 hours.

My imagination about the hostel was totally different. A dirty man guided man to my bed. Eight beds in a dark and messy room. I was looking for a place to put my luggage. Where can I put my luggage?, I asked him. Put it here! Next to your bed! Nobody would touch it, the guy told me. The room knocked me down. I came out of the hostel and was looking for my university which was located in that area.

I was looking for my university in the main street. I asked the address from 2 guys. When I said thanks, they replied: “no worries mate”. A new word in greeting as a master degree student was not acceptable for me!

After the orientation day, I started looking for a cheap room. I knew some websites but I had no idea where I can find an appropriate room regarding my budget. In the hostel, a nearly 35 to 40 years old black lady was watching TV most of times in the living room. We started talking together and as she was not new in the city, she gave me some idea about how and where to find a room.

She was originally from Kenya. I got happy as I like Kenyan runners. I started showing her my pictures with famous athletes from her country. She suddenly opened a folder of porno pictures from the pc. I showed no reaction but she stared at me. Yes! She was a prostitute that I got it late as everybody else in the hostel knew that except me. She had a strange character as the whole day she used to either read the bible or watch the TV.
Once I asked her about the cost of renting a bed for a long period of time in different hostels and she said:”remember, there is always a room of bargain. So it depends how you can bargain for the discount.” I saw her drunk for few more times after I left that hostel.

Wages in Australia

I would like to write about the wages for those who intend to come to Australia or those who are interested to know how people get paid in this economy.

As I live in Sydney and work as a casual staff, what I write is mainly related to my experience.

Most of the students in Australia don’t need to work because they belong to wealthy families mainly from Asian countries. Those who work can be categorized into two groups. First, those who can not speak English well, second, the others. Asians mostly have problem in speaking English even in master degree programs at universities ( not their fault, most of them can not pronounce English words properly).

Asians live in their own communities and therefore work in the same environments. In Thai or Chinese restaurants they get paid something around $10 per hour as a kitchen hand or in a watering job. This amount depends to the experience, ability and of course contact of the person and can go up to $18 per hour.

Most of the Europeans work as waiters/waitresses in Australian restaurants. They get paid something around &12 to 18 per hour and again it depends to what I mentioned previously. Some of them who are native English speakers would work in administration jobs and get paid a bit more like something around $20 per hour.

In general, like everything in life it depends to luck and effort to find an appropriate job. Students can work maximum 20 hours per week, so they lose some sort of jobs. Working holiday holder visas have more freedom and choices in terms of jobs but they can not work in a one specific job for more than three months. I don’t know much about this type of visa.
Some employers, who need to train employees, prefer to recruit those who can work for them more than one year. Bachelor degree students, who would stay in the country for few years, are a good target for employers.

Weird and wonderful

Today I had an interesting experience. I was supposed to work in my new casual job. Recently I applied in an agency to work as a carer. Usually carers take care of aged people in their homes and help them doing their every day activities.
I knew that today I have to take care of a kid which has some mental and behavioral problems.
The house was located in one of the best areas in Sydney close to clovelly beach. First, I met an old man in the age of nearly 65 to 70 years old. Messy house and a strange smell pissed me off at first seconds! He called john, and he entered. He was mentally retarded. I was about to cry, I don’t know why exactly but my expectation was different.

The man gave me a bag and told me that john likes to walk along the beach and after that make a barbeque for both of you.
I didn’t know the area so john leaded me through the path. He was absolutely conscious about the path. We entered into a cemetery. I had heard about that cemetery which is quite famous in Sydney. Going there was my plan in the coming months.

I started talking to him.
_ so, your name is john, is that right?
_ my name is john Paul and your name is ali. (He offered his hand as greeting)

I got that he is not like what I was thinking. He started talking about the cemetery. English people are buried here, as well as people from Italy, john told. I was shocked. He knew that as his father had told him many times in the past.
That cemetery is the biggest one in Sydney and it has only one view: ocean. We walked along the other famous beaches and made a barbeque in bronte beach. He loves sausages so we had that. When I asked him which day in a week you like most, he replied Tuesdays. Why?, I said. Its barbeque day, john said that.
During our walk, his father called me three times to make sure that everything is ok. He was wondering what we will do if it starts raining.
After three hours, we went back home. He wanted me to watch a DVD with him. It was a kind of educational DVD for children. Another one hour went for that.

His father really appreciated that and helped me to find the right way to reach the city.

I am alive

hi there!

this is my first post in this blog.

today i like to say that i am alive. you know what, today after my job, i felt i 'd be fired very soon. maybe not fired exactly, but the manager of the place which i work in, maybe will not call my agency to extend my job. anyway, after the feeling i was thinking that after each lose in life maybe sth better would happen and it gave a power to digest it more easily and faster.
i am serious, i have learned in my life that sometimes we, humans, feel that maybe we are losing and it is a kind of lose in fact but what the lose itself can increase the chance to gain more in the future. As an example, suppose i have worked in a company as an assistant in my department. after losing my job, i have the opportunity to apply for a position one level higher than my current job.

anyway, as the first post, i write just for myself. i am not sure if anybody else would read it.
